21 trends for 2021 and where to buy them for under £50
A new year means a new wardrobe and here is where to grab them for a bargain.
Updated

I won’t lie to you. Mentally, I’m still in April 2019, but according to my calendar, it’s January 2021. And even though that frightens me to my core, it means one beautiful thing – new year fashion trends.
After deep-diving into the Internet and watching a copious amount of fashion TikToks, we’ve pulled together 21 fashion trends that are going to be a big deal this year. Better yet, we’ve also included a list of retailers where you can shop the trends for under £50 because we are all about bagging a bargain in 2021.
Get around it and get shopping.
2. Two-tone denim
Two-tone has been a slow up and comer but expect it to be everywhere this year. Whether you’re looking for some shorts, a skirt or a funky pair of jeans, this trend is a must-have.
Where to buy:
3. Flannel
It’s lumberjack chic and one of the easiest items to dress up and dress down. You can go for an oversized fit for more of a dress look or check out the thicker styles for winter. Simply raid your dad’s wardrobe for one of these bad boys if you wanna save some coin.
Where to buy:
5. White knee-high boots
White boots had a bit of a moment back in winter 2018, but they’re back for 2021 and bigger and better than ever. Why? Because we’re talking knee-high white boots.
Where to buy:
6. Bandannas and silk scarves
The rise of silk scarves began towards the end of 2020, but rest assured, this trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Wear them as a hair accessory, necktie or even a shirt. There are a bunch of tutorials on TikTok on how to style these if you need a little inspiration.
Where to buy:
7. Knitted vests
A trend that’s a little different to what we’ve seen recently is knitted vests. A subtle nod to UK fashion, these pieces are the perfect way to jazz up a streetwear look through layering with an oversized shirt, a pleated skirt or some mom jeans.
Where to buy:
8. Royal blue
Never did I think I’d be getting around royal blue in my wardrobe, but I stand corrected. This is easily one of the biggest shades for 2021, and you can expect to see it as both a fashion and a beauty trend this year.
Where to buy:
10. Statement pants
2021 is the year to go big or go home. After being cooped up for the majority of 2020, it’s time to get outside and make a statement, and big bold print pants are the go-to way to do so this year. Whether it’s leather, gingham, tie-dye or floral – they’re all winners!
Where to buy:
12. Patchwork
A bit of a quirky trend that we haven’t seen in a while is patchwork clothes. This trend will see a bunch of fabrics, colours and patterns thrown together, but we predict it will be fairly prominent across denim and knitwear items.
Where to buy:
13. Corsets
After binge-watching the entirety of Bridgerton on Netflix, this is easily one of my favourite trends for this year. It simply adds some spice to your outfit and who could say no to that?
Where to buy:
14. Oversized outfits
Towards the end of the year, the term “oversized outfits” literally tripled in searches on Pinterest. So if that tells us anything, it means that whatever you’re buying this year, you might want to size up.
Where to buy:
16. Collars
Expect to see collars absolutely everywhere in 2021. Gonna be big. Huge. Monumental.
Where to buy:
19. Lilac
A secondary shade for the season is going to be lilac. 2020 had a big moment for pastels but mainly focused on greens and pinks. 2021 is the year for pastel, whether it’s accessories, bikinis, clothing and even shoes.
Where to buy:
21. Gold bracelets
Statement jewellery isn’t a new trend; however, it’s often been shown through big chunky hoops, necklaces and rings. Well, get ready to add gold bracelets to that list as this is the jewellery trend for the year. You can stack them or go for a big chunky chain style. Whatever floats your boat!
