The best performing stocks in NYSE and Nasdaq trading today were Pinterest (PINS, up 14.8%) and Citigroup (C, up 10.3%).
Overall the market staged a big Friday rally with the Nasdaq up 1,8%, the S&P 500 up 1.9% and the Dow climbing 2.1%. The Dow ended the week up a fraction, the S&P and Nasdaq down by about the same.

Pinterest Inc. (PINS) was the top gainer today.
Shares in the company rose 14.8% to $20.16.
“Pinterest soared on news that an activist firm known for forcing management changes had bought a large stake,” said Finder Finance News Editor Ron Prichard.

Another strong performer was Citigroup Inc. (C), the NYSE company.
It rose 10.3% to reach $48.69 after an earnings report that beat expectations, with a smaller-than-expected drop in profit..
