The updated program offers new ways to earn and spend.
With more than 8,000 hotels across 80 countries, Wyndham Hotels has grown to become one of the largest hotel chains in just over a decade. Their rewards program has undergone some big changes and now offers new ways to earn and redeem points, along with new reward night pricing.
How much are Wyndham Rewards points worth?
Based on early calculations from the Wyndham Rewards site, we’re seeing a lower average point value of 0.8 cents a piece as of April 2019. This was expected given how generous the old requirements were – just 15,000 points to stay at any Wyndham hotel property.
Do Wyndham Rewards points expire?
Yes. Your Wyndham Rewards points will expire after four years unless forfeit prior as a result of inactivity. For your account to remain active, you’ll need to earn, redeem or transfer points at least once every 18 months.
How do you earn Wyndham Rewards points?
The two primary methods of earning Wyndham Rewards points is to stay at eligible Wyndham hotel properties and to make purchases with their cobranded credit card.
Wyndham’s cobranded credit card is especially useful for gaining points thanks to its signup bonus. You can earn 15,000 bonus points after your first purchase or balance transfer.

Wyndham Rewards elite levels
The Wyndham Rewards program offers several elite status tiers, each with a progressing selection of perks and benefits for your account. Progressing through each tier is simple, requiring just a few qualifying night stays.
As part of the Wyndham Rewards updates, you’ll now gain bonuses to your point earnings based on your elite tier.
The Wyndham Rewards loyalty program remains a potentially valuable program and has increased the flexibility of how you earn and redeem your points. Sadly, the old reward night requirements were too good to last, so you’ll need to do a little more research to make the most of the program.
Compare your hotel reward program options to find one that best fits your travel needs. And if you want a program with more credit card options, compare rewards cards to review your available choices.
