Brits predicted to spend £893 million on Easter treats

10 March 2018- This Easter, Brits are expected to spend £893 million on chocolate, gifts, Easter eggs and other goodies according to research conducted by price comparison site,

88 percent of Brits (36 million) plan to celebrate Easter this year and will spend a combined £892.6m on the festivities. Brits will spend over £300 million more on Easter this year than they did last year, at £575 million.*

Those planning to celebrate will spend an average of £24.41 each on chocolates, gifts and entertainment.

Not surprisingly, the younger generation is the most cost-conscious this Easter with millennials planning to spend the least at £20.41 on average compared to Gen X spending £27.25 and baby boomers spending £24.68.

Men will be the biggest spenders this Easter, but only slightly, shelling out £25.42 on average compared to women spending £23.53.
