Financial education: Are parents equipped to fill the gap?
Download our report on who's really teaching kids about money in the UK, featuring expert views and new research among parents.
For our report on financial education in the UK, we surveyed UK adults with children at primary or secondary school, looked at key trends and spoke to experts in the education and fintech sectors. We explored who’s really teaching kids about money in the UK and whether parents feel confident enough in their own financial knowledge to educate their children on money matters.
Our report includes findings from our survey of 1,007 UK parents of primary and secondary aged children. The survey covers whether parents have tried to teach their children about money, their reasons for doing this and their confidence levels in teaching different financial topics. We’ve also included expert insight from Katie Strain, deputy headteacher at Amersham School; Louise Hill, co-founder and CEO at GoHenry; Dr Lei Chen, senior lecturer in accounting and finance at Loughborough University; Mat Megens founder and chief consumer architect at HyperJar; Ola Majekodunmi, founder of All Things Money and Siobhan Sweeney, secondary school teacher.
