Consider the Southwest Airlines shopping program if you frequently fly with the airline and want to earn additional rewards points. To start earning, simply make purchases at more than 800 eligible stores, including Apple, ASOS, Best Buy, H&M and Walmart. You may also get limited-time offers such as discounts or free shipping.

How does the Southwest Airlines shopping program work?

Earn anywhere from 1x up to 30x points on eligible purchases when you use the Southwest shopping program. The number depends on the current offer and varies between stores, but points earned are added on top of any other rewards you already earn with your credit card.

What to watch out for

There are some issues that could prevent you from earning points on your purchases. Keep an eye on:

  • Browser cookies.
    If your browser is set to block cookies from the store’s website, you may not earn any points. Make sure you have enabled browser cookies.
  • Coupon codes.
    Don’t use coupon codes from anywhere else except Rapid Rewards Shopping. Entering other companies coupon codes will prevent you from earning points.
  • Clicking out.
    Once you follow the link to a store from the shopping program do not click out to another site. Coming back to the store from another website could interfere with your browser cookies.

How to use Southwest Airlines shopping program

First, you need to sign up for a Rapid Rewards account. This is the Southwest Airlines frequent flyer program and membership is free. Once you have it set up:

  1. Go to the Southwest Airlines shopping website.
  2. Log in with your Rapid Rewards account number and password.
  3. Search for your favorite store or look for special offers.
  4. Start shopping.
