Expert review

The Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express Card is the mid-tier card of the Delta suite of cards. It has a $250 annual fee and a rewards program with 3x miles on Delta purchases and hotels and 1x miles on all other purchases. However, purchases over $5,000 earn 1.5x miles on up to 50,000 additional miles per year.

Also, you get to earn a generous welcome offer of 45,000 miles and 5,000 MQMs, a $100 statement credit when you make a Delta purchase within the same time frame, and a companion certificate every year you renew your card membership. Of the Delta perks, you get Main Cabin 1 priority boarding and free first checked bag.

Overall, businesses that often fly Delta and spend more than $25,000 annually with this card can offset the annual fee and get the highest value.

But if you spend up to $50,000 on purchases per year and you make at least four round trips with Delta, you could offset your card’s annual fee and earn Medallion Status benefits. You can also earn $100 Delta credit when you spend $10,000 in a calendar year. You get similar perks for a $99 annual fee after the first year $0 annual fee intro (see rates & fees).
