How to get to Bali with credit card rewards

A welcome offer can pay for a one-way flight, and occasionally a round-trip fare.

Updated

Fact checked
Bali is known for its beautiful beaches, volcanic mountains, inspiring culture and elegant architecture.

It’s a popular tourist destination for a reason. And you can fly there using the right credit cards.

The best fares to get to Bali with miles

You can use credit card rewards several different ways to get to Bali. However, the following frequent flyer programs and airlines will get you there with the fewest miles.

Some award flights can be hard to find

Here are two helpful tips when booking award flights: Book early and be flexible with travel dates. You might not easily find fares for the exact miles you want.

If you’re having trouble finding what you’re looking for, consider calling the airline’s reservations line. A representative may find flights that are only available offline.

Credit cards that get you to Bali

Typically, one welcome offer won’t get you a round-trip flight to Bali — though it could easily be enough for a one-way flight.

Look beyond each card’s welcome offer and consider the rewards you’ll earn. Over time, your spending could earn you enough miles for more flights to Bali and elsewhere.

Remember this when booking award flights

When you book an award flight, you’ll almost always need to pay money for taxes and fees. These costs can add significantly to your flight total, even when you’re paying with points or miles.

Bottom line

While a welcome offer is unlikely to give you a round-trip flight, it could easily be enough for a one-way trip.

In addition to a card’s welcome offer, consider the rewards you’ll earn. With diligent saving, you could earn enough points or miles for more low-cost flights.
