Despite Delta’s status as one of the largest airline companies out there, Delta’s Sky Club lounges are mostly only within the United States. Nevertheless, Delta offers quality amenities, and it offers select members a wide selection of partner lounges to help you rest in between flights abroad.

How to get in and pricing

Delta has a rather complex set of rules for gaining access to Sky Club locations. At the most basic level, you have three primary options:

  • Purchase a membership
  • Get complimentary access through an eligible Delta cobranded credit card
  • Gain membership through Medallion tiers

Purchase Delta Sky Club membership

Delta offers two flavors of Sky Club membership. Both can be purchased online through your SkyMiles account.

Membership planRulesOne-year rate
Individual membershipUnlimited access for member only.
Members may bring up to two guests for $29 per guest per visit.
$545 OR 54,500 miles OR $50 for 12 monthly installments
Executive membershipUnlimited access for member and two guests per visit.$845 OR 84,500 miles OR $75 for 12 monthly installments

Delta credit card access

Apply and qualify for the Delta Reserve® Credit Card from American Express to enjoy complimentary access to the Delta Sky Club when you fly on Delta. While the annual fee for the card is $450 (see rates & fees ), the card’s perks nearly cover this cost in full.

The Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express and Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express also allow club access when flying on Delta, albeit at a discounted rate of $29 per person.

The Centurion® Card from American Express and The Platinum Card® from American Express can also grant Sky Club access when you travel on a same-day ticket with Delta or a Delta-marketed WestJet with a flight booked through Delta. Check your card’s guide to benefits for eligibility.

Membership access

Flying in a certain class or gaining a certain elite status tier may entitle you to complimentary or discounted access. Check out our Delta SkyMiles guide for more information.

Partner locations

If you’re a Delta Diamond, Platinum or Gold Medallion member, you have access to a variety of partner lounges around the world. You can check out your account page to view these locations. Unfortunately, Delta closed these partner locations to standard Sky Club members on January 1, 2019.

Bottom line

You’ll find many of the amenities you’d expect from a top-class airport lounge. However, the restrictive accessibility requirements and lack of day-passes mean you’ll have to commit to Delta if you want to make the Sky Club lounges a mainstay of your travel.

Compare credit cards that offer airline lounge access to find one that best suits your travel needs.
