Delta announced several limited-time welcome offers for three of its popular cards: Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card and Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card.
Interested applicants had to pick up a card by Wednesday, April 3, 2019, to take advantage of strong rewards opportunities.
During this limited-time promo, each card’s existing welcome offer got a big boost. You could potentially double your bonus miles earned, depending on the card you chose. But note that spending requirements were also bumped up to compensate for the rewards increase.

Note that these limited time offers have expired as of April 3, 2019.
Delta returned to the old welcome offer values after the limited-time welcome offer expired.
Use the extra miles for travel redemption on otherwise very expensive or long flights.
For example, the old welcome offer for the Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card could earn you enough miles to redeem a round-trip main cabin flight from LAX to JFK, requiring 23,000 miles.
With the limited-time bonus, however, you could get as far as London with 40,000 miles. That means you’ll have enough miles left over for a flight to Calgary, valued at 16,000 miles.
Delta SkyMiles is a solid loyalty program offering many ways to earn miles with high redemption value.
The cards with limited-time offers are robust as far as travel cards go, and particularly valuable if Delta is your airline of choice. Plus, they can help you earn Medallion Qualifying Miles, further boosting your travel perks and bonus miles.
During the limited time offer was a great time to apply for one of these Delta cards, given how much farther you could fly with the offers and the overall strength of the cards.
