Typical features and benefits of a Credit One card

  • High interest rates. Before applying for a Credit One card, look closely at its purchase APR. The bank’s products come with higher-than-average interest rates of between 20% and 27% variable. If you’re applying with a poor credit, chances are you’ll get an APR on the higher end.
  • Rewards uncertain. Credit One will assign your card a certain rewards rate based on your credit profile. If you have poor credit, getting a rewards credit card is difficult, which could make Credit One’s card options rewarding.
  • Range of annual fees. You may receive an annual fee between $0 and $99 based on your credit. With poor credit, expect to pay an annual fee.
  • Grace period uncertain. You may or may not receive an interest grace period on purchases. If you have poor credit, chances are you may not get a grace period. This makes your purchases more expensive if you can’t pay off your balance fast.
  • No balance transfers. Credit One does not allow you to transfer debt from other sources to your credit card.
  • Slow payments. Some Credit One credit card reviewers claim to have difficulties with paying their balance on time because of Credit One’s slow payment processing. This means more fees for you.

Bottom line

Credit One offers cards to those with excellent credit but specializes in products for individuals rebuilding credit. Depending on your income and credit, you may receive cash back with your card.
