In an increasingly cashless society, businesses are becoming more aware of how essential it is to invest in card readers to ensure they don’t miss out on valuable customer sales. These card readers, or “card machines” and “card terminals” as they are also known, can help customers pay for goods and services quickly and easily without the need for cash.
Verifone was founded back in 1981, and one of its first inventions was the “Verification Phone”, an electronic method that protects merchants from fraudulent checks. The company has expanded rapidly over the years and now offers a range of different payment services and card readers to meet different business requirements. How to order a Verifone card reader
Once you’ve carried out some research and decided on the best card reader for you and your business, you can start the application process.
To do this, you’ll need to fill in a form on the contact page of the Verifone website, providing a few personal details and your company’s name, plus the device you’re interested in using. A sales representative will then get in touch to go through your options and provide a quote. Prices can depend on the size of your business and the type of card reader you choose.
Pros and cons of Verifone card readers
Pros
Range of card readers to choose from
Accept a range of payments
Ability to print receipts
Machines can be docked or used on the go
Unattended devices also available
Cons
Unclear pricing structure
Could be tied into contract
Our verdict
Verifone offers a wide range of card readers, which means there should be something to suit every business. However, businesses need to get a personalised quote before they can get an idea of how much each device will cost them – there’s no easy way to compare costs online, which is a little frustrating. Once you’ve received your quote, you’ll then need to compare this to other card readers from other providers to ensure you’re getting the best deal for your business.
