What is Hamilton about?

The production stars Miranda in the titular role of US Treasury Secretary and Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, along with the original Broadway cast. The musical was inspired by the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by historian Ron Chernow. It chronicles Hamilton’s ascent out of poverty and to power against the backdrop of the American War of Independence. The narrative is presented in the form of original, catchy hip-hop and R’n’B songs.

Is Hamilton any good?

Yes. Hamilton received numerous accolades since it premiered back Off-Broadway in 2015, including 11 Tony Awards and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The musical itself has made its way across America and was set to come to Hamburg and Sydney. So for now, this stage recording will be the only way many will be able to see it making for an exciting watch.

Where to watch Hamilton?

As we mentioned earlier, Hamilton will drop on streaming service Disney+ on 3 July 2020.
