ConsumerInfo was founded in 1995 and owns several websites that help consumers monitor their credit score and reports.

You will need a different service if you want to see what’s in your Equifax or TransUnion credit reports.

How can I check my credit score with

With a subscription, you get instant, free access to your Experian credit report and FICO score. Your score is updated as soon as you sign in, but you’re restricted to one update every 30 days.

You’ll also get alerts to any changes to your credit report, including new inquiries, new accounts and any signs of fraud. The service also helps you submit and track any disputes to your Experian credit report.

Like with any free service, you’re the product. Expect advertisements in the mail and phone calls from third parties and subsidiaries. Read the fine print and opt out of this ad sharing to prevent your information from being shared.

Yes. is a part of the Experian company, one of the three established credit bureaus in the US. The Experian data delivered by is sourced directly from Experian and you don’t need to supply credit card details to sign up. The site uses SSL technology to encrypt the personal information you provide when signing up for membership. is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, but it does receive an A+ rating. As of June 2018, it only has one customer complaint filed against it.

Some Reddit users experienced unwanted soliciting through phone calls and in the mail. Read’s ad-targeting and privacy policy — it shares personal information with third parties.

Customer service for does not have a phone number or email address listed on its site to contact customer service. The only information it lists is a mailing address for its parent company:

Bottom line

Consider for free, regular updates on your Experian credit report every 30 days. You’ll even get your FICO score and automatic alerts, which many providers make you pay for.
