A lifetime policy is probably the best fit for a Great Dane. Whilst you may be deterred by the expense, your Great Dane has a significant chance of contracting common health issues so in the long run it could just save you money. With a lifetime policy, the financial limit for each condition resets at the renewal of your policy, limiting the likelihood of you shedding out money on treatments.
If you do feel that a lifetime insurance policy is too expensive, you could opt for a maximum benefit policy. All new illnesses will be insured up to a financial limit, but once this is reached for each condition, it does not reset with the renewal of the policy.
