The RBFCU CashBack Rewards Mastercard® is a rare cashback credit card that offers a 0% intro APR period on cash advances and balance transfers. It can save you money on fees for balance transfers, cash advances and foreign transactions. On top of all that, the card has no annual fee.
The good stuff does come with a few drawbacks, however. For example, you won’t earn a bonus on signup or get a 0% intro APR period on purchases.
- Cash back.
Earn 2% cash back on all purchases. This is high considering the industry standard is 1.5%.
- Potentially low APR.
Depending on your creditworthiness, you can get an APR between 9.9% and 17.9% variable. This is low compared to rates imposed by similar rewards credit cards, which can be up to 28%.
- Intro APR period on balance transfers.
Use 12 billing cycles of intro APR period on balance transfers made within your first 90 days of account opening. Once the intro period ends, your APR reverts to 9.9% to 17.9% variable.
- Intro APR period on cash advances.
This card offers a 0% intro APR on cash advances made within the first 90 days for 12 billing cycles. After that, your cash advance APR will be 9.9% to 17.9% variable. Cash advances typically start incurring high APR from the moment you make an ATM withdrawal or a similar transaction. This makes them often the most expensive card transactions.
- No fees.
You’ll save money on some of the most common fees, including the annual fee, on balance transfers, cash advances and on foreign transactions.
What to watch out for
- No signup bonus.
Look for credit cards with bonus offers if you want to earn a quick batch of points or a statement credit upon signup. Note that while the RBFCU CashBack Rewards Mastercard® has no signup bonus, it may offer better long-term value thanks to its rewards rate.
- No intro APR period on purchases.
The card offers a long intro APR period on balance transfers and cash advances. But if you’re looking to make a large purchase and carry the balance interest-free, compare 0% intro APR credit cards.
