Typical features of Mastercard cashback credit cards

There are some perks that all Mastercard credit cards come with. Despite that, some of these perks may not be offered by all card providers. To make sure the card you’re considering has a certain perk, as the card provider’s customer support.

  • Zero liability. This feature protects your account against unauthorized charges. But to use it, you must report every time you notice transactions you didn’t make.
  • Digital wallets. Mastercard supports digital wallets, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, which increases your credit card security when making purchases at participating stores.
  • Price protection. If you buy an item and within 60 days you find the same item at a lower price, you may be reimbursed for the price difference.
  • Purchase assurance. Items purchased with your eligible Mastercard are covered against theft or damage within 90 days of the date of purchase.
  • Satisfaction guarantee. If you want to return a product you purchased within 60 days but the merchant won’t accept it, you may be eligible for a refund of up to $250. This feature is also known as return protection.

How to compare Mastercard cashback credit cards

Mastercard cashback credit cards come from almost every bank that offers personal credit cards. To choose the right one, ask yourself:

  • Do you want to make balance transfers?
The Citi® Double Cash Card or the Bank of America® Cash Rewards Credit Card can be solid choices. But if you’re looking for the longest intro APR period, consider the Citi® Double Cash Card.
  • Do you mostly spend on dining and entertainment?
In that case, the Capital One® SavorOne® Cash Rewards Credit Card would be the right choice, as it offers the highest cash back on these categories.
  • Do you want to earn flat cash back on all purchases?
Consider the Citi® Double Cash Card or the PayPal Cashback Mastercard®. Both offer unlimited 2% back on all purchases and have no annual fee.

Bottom line

A wide variety of Mastercard cashback credit cards are available across many banks. You can choose from flat cash back on all purchases or accelerated rewards on certain categories. The majority of Mastercard cashback credit cards come with a signup bonus, no annual fee and offer an intro APR period on balance transfers and purchases.

But if you find that none of these cards are what you’re looking for, compare other cashback credit cards until you find the right fit for your financial needs.
