Restrictions on transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points depend on where you’re transferring them — to another person’s frequent travel program, such as Marriott Bonvoy or IHG Rewards Club, or another person’s Chase Ultimate Rewards account. The only thing transferring points has in common is that the person receiving the points must be a member of your household.
If you plan on transferring points to another person’s frequent traveler program, for example Marriott Bonvoy, that person must be listed as an authorized user on your credit card account. That person will then be the only authorized user who can receive point transfers to their loyalty program.
Points transferred to loyalty programs must be moved in 1,000-point increments.
Moving points between Chase accounts is a little more forgiving. You can transfer your points to another Ultimate Rewards card that you own or to a member of your household. The other member doesn’t need to be an authorized user on your account.
Transferring your Chase points to another Chase account is straightforward.
Transferring your points to another person’s frequent traveler account is a similar process with a few small differences.
In many cases, points transferred this way are processed and available instantly in the loyalty account. However, some frequent traveler programs may require a day or more for processing. Check out our Chase travel partners page for more information.
The ability to transfer Chase points is one of the primary features that makes Chase Ultimate Rewards points so strong. Points transferred to travel partners can sometimes double in value, letting you stretch your rewards even further.
Pooling your Chase points with another person is a great way to redeem on bigger and better things, such as airline flights or vacations abroad.
You can maximize your Chase rewards points with the right credit card. This way, you’ll have more points to transfer to members of your household. But before you apply for a card, compare all Chase Ultimate Rewards credit card options and choose the one that makes the most sense for your spending.
Combining Chase Ultimate Rewards points is a great way to quickly save up for a great vacation or other expenditures for you and your family. Just remember that your loyalty program transfer partners are limited.
If you don’t already have one of these cards, compare Chase rewards credit cards to find the best option for you. Then you can maximize your points by pooling or transferring them to another person.
