Do I need Shopify Plus?

In addition to Shopify Plus, Shopify offers four lower-level plans. One is a micro plan called Shopify Lite. The other three are standard plans called Basic Shopify, Shopify and Advanced Shopify.

A few big differences between the plans are:

Differences between the plansDescription
Credit card rates. The higher-level plan you pick, the less you pay in credit card transaction fees.
Transaction fees.If you use a payment gateway other than Shopify Payments, you’ll pay a transaction fee per sale. This fee decreases with higher-level plans.
Staff accounts. You can give additional staff members access to your website and store.
Shipping label discount. You’ll get steeper discounts for shipping with higher-level plans.

With Shopify Plus, you may save in credit card and transaction fees depending on your sales volume. (Your exact rates will vary depending on the size of your business.) The additional savings on shipping may also be worthwhile.

Logistically, you may need many staff accounts, an advanced report builder or real-time carrier shipping. Consider all of these factors when deciding whether to sign up for Shopify Plus.
