Our verdict
Rewarded Play is a long-running, BBB-accredited game rewards app, but its points expire after 60 days without a login and its own site says its rewards system favors players who spend money in games.
Rewarded Play is a free app for Android and iPhone that pays you points for reaching levels, hitting milestones and logging gameplay time in partner mobile games. You trade those points for gift cards from more than 40 brands. Influence Mobile, Inc., a Washington company operating since 2012, runs the app and says it has delivered more than $50 million in rewards since Rewarded Play launched in 2019, according to its FAQ.
The catch is in the fine print. Its Terms of Use void your points if you don't log in for 60 days, let Influence Mobile change or cancel points at any time and say points aren't your personal property. And on its About page, Influence Mobile says its rewards system "disproportionately rewards spenders" — players who've made an in-app purchase. Play the free milestones, skip spending just to chase points and redeem as soon as you can.
Best for: Casual mobile gamers who already play every day and won't spend money in games just to earn points.

Is Rewarded Play legit?
Yes. Rewarded Play is a real app from an identifiable company with a long track record. Influence Mobile, Inc. names itself as the operator in the app’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and app store listings. The company started in 2012 as Affinity Influencing Systems and launched Rewarded Play on Android in 2019, according to its About page. An iPhone version followed in 2026.
Its own figures don’t always match, though. Its legal pages list a Seattle mailing address, and its FAQ says it’s headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. Its Google Play listing gives an address in Kirkland, Washington.
Download only from the App Store or Google Play and check that the developer is Influence Mobile, Inc. At least one unrelated iPhone app from a different developer uses the Rewarded Play name, and Rewarded Play’s Terms say it will terminate accounts that use an app from an unapproved source.
What makes Rewarded Play shine?
- Big-name gift cards. You can redeem for more than 40 brands, including Amazon, Target, Walmart and Sephora, plus Visa prepaid cards, according to Rewarded Play’s FAQ and product page.
- Fast first cash-out. Most players earn their first $5 gift card in about 48 hours of normal play, according to its FAQ. That’s the company’s own estimate, and it’ll depend on which games you pick.
- Quick delivery. Most gift cards arrive within one to two business days.
- Daily streak bonus. Earn 5,000 points in a day and Rewarded Play adds a 500-point bonus on day one, 1,000 points on day two and up to 2,500 points by day five. You keep getting 2,500 bonus points for every consecutive day you hit 5,000, according to its Help Center.
- Points for games you’d play anyway. You earn for level completions, gameplay time and in-app milestones, according to its FAQ, and its app store listings name games like Solitaire, Mahjong, Wheel of Fortune and Yahtzee. If you already play game apps that pay real money, there’s little to learn.
Where Rewarded Play falls short
- Points expire fast. If you don’t log in for 60 days or more, Rewarded Play treats your account as inactive and your points and rewards become “null and void,” according to its Terms. The only exception is points from a paid point booster.
- The system favors spenders. Some milestones are “spending events,” according to Rewarded Play’s product page, and its store listings say you can earn by making in-app purchases. Influence Mobile’s About page says its rewards system disproportionately rewards spenders, who make up about 35% of players in its network. Its Terms also say it only awards points on purchases it can verify and earns a commission on.
- Point values aren’t published. We couldn’t find a points-to-dollar rate or the point cost of a $5 gift card in its FAQ, product page or legal pages. Its Terms let Influence Mobile change the points needed for a reward and the points you can earn per activity or time period.
- Your points aren’t yours. Points aren’t your personal property, according to its Terms, and Influence Mobile can change, suspend or cancel points “at any time without notice.” If Influence Mobile disables or terminates your account, your points revert to the company.
- Accounts can close for any reason. Influence Mobile can suspend or terminate your account for any reason, with or without notice, according to its Terms. In two BBB complaint responses from December 2025 and April 2026, the company disabled players’ accounts after they accused it of scamming them or false advertising.
- Strict account rules. You’re limited to one account per person and four per household. You need location services on, a real cell number (no VoIP or texting-app numbers) and no VPN, according to its Terms. Rewarded Play may also ask you to verify your ID through a third-party provider, ComplyCube.
- Mixed signals on data. Its FAQ says it doesn’t sell player data. Its Privacy Policy says it may — delivering research results to clients for a fee may count as a “sale” under California privacy law. It also collects which third-party apps you’ve installed and your approximate location.
- Credit isn’t instant. Points can take up to 24 hours to show up, and you need to launch games through Rewarded Play for them to track, according to its Help Center.

How do you earn money on Rewarded Play?
Here are the main ways to earn, according to Rewarded Play’s FAQ, product page and app store listings:
- Hit game milestones. You earn points for reaching levels and in-game goals. Different games pay at different rates.
- Log gameplay time. Some games reward time spent playing, not just progress.
- Watch rewarded videos. Both app store listings name this as a way to earn.
- Take surveys. Rewarded Play’s Help Center covers survey points, and its Privacy Policy says its surveys are available to US users. If you like this kind of task, there are more ways to earn money through surveys.
- Make in-app purchases. Some milestones are spending events. Rewarded Play only credits purchases it can verify, and it may ask for receipts.
- Earn the daily bonus. Hit 5,000 points a day to start a streak worth up to 2,500 bonus points a day. Miss a day and the streak resets.
Tips to get more out of Rewarded Play
- Log in at least every few weeks. Rewarded Play voids points after 60 days without a login, so don’t let a balance sit.
- Don’t spend just for points. Rewarded Play’s rewards favor spenders, but a $10 purchase for a smaller reward is a loss. Set a budget before you start.
- Launch every game through Rewarded Play. Opening games directly on your phone can stop your points from tracking, according to its Help Center.
- Screenshot your progress. If points don’t show up after 24 hours, Rewarded Play asks for a screenshot of the completed level. For missing purchase points, it asks for your Google receipt showing the date, app name and amount.
- Claim gift cards within 14 days. Rewarded Play cancels unclaimed gift cards after 14 days and adds the points back to your account, according to its Help Center.
- Cash out small and often. Influence Mobile can change point values at any time, so redeeming as soon as you can limits what’s at stake. Many free apps that pay real money instantly work best this way too.

A positive review featured on Rewarded Play’s Google Play page praises its clear goals and customer support. Featured negative reviews describe surveys that disqualify you after five to 10 minutes, a bonus the reviewer never received and gift card redemptions that fail. One reviewer said Rewarded Play raised the points needed to cash out by 10,000. In a reply to a negative review, Influence Mobile said its newest goal-based offers give many players $250 per game and $100 or more each month.
The BBB complaints mostly involve missing points, security holds on gift cards and disabled accounts. In some responses, Influence Mobile blamed tracking problems with third-party partners, and in two cases it closed the complainant’s account.
What do people on Reddit say?
Longtime users on Reddit say Rewarded Play got worse in 2025. In a popular r/beermoney thread from about a year ago, a few players said it raised the points needed for gift cards more than once without warning — one said the cost nearly doubled. Others said newer games pay fewer points and there are fewer to choose from.
The original poster said Rewarded Play banned their account after a support dispute, and two users said a gift card code showed as already used. One commenter replied that you may need to enter the code on Rewarded Play’s redemption link first to get a working Amazon code.
Still, one longtime user said they made almost $1,000 over several years. The original poster’s advice: cash out every time you hit the minimum. A separate r/EarnExtraIncome post calls Rewarded Play legit but slow.
How does Rewarded Play make money?
Game studios pay Rewarded Play to put their games in front of players, according to its FAQ. When you install and play a partner game through the app, Influence Mobile tracks that install and shares it with the game developer to set conversion rates, according to its Privacy Policy.
That’s why spending matters. About 35% of players in Influence Mobile’s network are spenders, and the top 7% of spenders drive 75% of in-app spending, according to its About page. The company says its rewards system keeps those spenders playing for years.
How does Rewarded Play pay you?
You redeem points for gift cards through the Rewards tab in the app. Options include:
- Gift cards from more than 40 brands, including Amazon, Target, Walmart, Sephora and Best Buy
- Visa prepaid cards
Rewarded Play doesn’t list PayPal or direct bank transfers on its website. If PayPal matters to you, payout methods vary widely across money-making apps.
Most gift cards arrive within one to two business days, and your first redemption includes an ID check, according to its FAQ. Once a gift card is ready, you have 14 days to claim it in the app.
