Review

Freecash pays you real money for playing games, taking surveys and trying out apps, but a rocky app store history means you should go in with your eyes open.

Freecash is a "get-paid-to" (GPT) platform where you earn rewards for completing games, surveys, app downloads and product sign-ups. Once you build up a balance you can cash out to PayPal, Venmo, your bank account, crypto or gift cards.

The platform pays out real money and carries an "Excellent" Trustpilot rating from a large review base. But its app was temporarily removed from both the Apple App Store and Google Play earlier in 2026, its Better Business Bureau profile flags a pattern of unresolved complaints, and its cashout menu includes casino-style options you should treat with caution.

Pros

  • Free to join and quick to start earning
  • Multiple ways to earn beyond surveys
  • Several cashout methods, including PayPal, Venmo, bank transfer, crypto and gift cards
  • First cashout threshold is as low as $5
  • Available on iOS, Android and desktop

Cons

  • PayPal, Venmo and bank transfer withdrawals carry a 5% fee
  • Limited offers for new accounts in Lite Mode
  • Temporary removal from both app stores in 2026
  • Pattern of unresolved complaints on its BBB profile
  • Some offers require spending your own money
  • Real-money casino cashout option through Stake

  • Earning potential: Varies widely by offer — Freecash’s homepage was featuring offers as high as $391 in July 2026, though other offers listed on its own site have paid $600+
  • Cash-outs: From $5–$20 (first withdrawal, varies by region)
  • Signup bonus: Not guaranteed — Freecash’s own promo pages cite a $10 welcome bonus with a valid referral code, or a randomized “sign-up case” worth $0.05–$250 without one

Is Freecash legit?

Freecash is a legitimate, operating business, but “legitimate” doesn’t mean complaint-free. Almedia GmbH, a Berlin-based ad-tech company, runs Freecash, with a US entity, Almedia USA Inc., based in Wilmington, Delaware.

On Trustpilot, Freecash carries an “Excellent” rating from hundreds of thousands of reviews. BBB flags its profile with a “Pattern of Complaints” alert, and it isn’t accredited. The complaints and reviews BBB has published mostly describe accounts getting restricted and rewards not getting credited for higher-value milestones.

Freecash’s app was temporarily unavailable on the Apple App Store and Google Play earlier in 2026. Google Play reinstated the app on May 7, 2026, and Apple followed on June 17, 2026, according to Almedia’s own announcement, so Freecash is available on both platforms again, as well as on the web.

What we like

  • Sign-up is quick and free. Creating an account takes a couple of minutes and there’s no cost to join.
  • You’re not limited to surveys. You can earn through games, app downloads, product trials and referrals as well as surveys.
  • Low cash-out floor. PayPal, gift card and bank transfer withdrawals start at $5, and Venmo withdrawals go even lower.
  • Multiple payout options. US users can cash out to PayPal, Venmo, bank transfer, crypto (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin) or gift cards for Amazon, Apple, Google Play, DoorDash and other brands.
  • Fast processing. Freecash says most withdrawals are processed quickly once your identity is verified.

What to watch out for

  • App store history. Freecash’s app was temporarily unavailable on the Apple App Store and Google Play earlier in 2026. Both listings are back up as of June 2026, but it’s worth knowing that happened.
  • BBB complaint pattern. Freecash’s BBB profile carries a “Pattern of Complaints” alert, and the complaints published there mostly describe accounts getting restricted right before a large withdrawal and rewards not tracking for higher-value milestones.
  • Lite Mode. New accounts commonly start with a limited set of offers until you build up an initial balance.
  • Withdrawal fees. PayPal, Venmo and bank transfer withdrawals carry a 5% fee. Gift cards and most crypto withdrawals don’t.
  • Spend-to-earn offers. Some offers require you to make a purchase or investment before you qualify for a reward, so read the fine print before starting one.
  • Casino-style cashouts. Freecash lets you send your balance to Stake, a crypto gambling platform. This involves real financial risk and you should only use it with money you can afford to lose.
  • Not an income replacement. More than a quarter of Americans with a side hustle say rising costs have pushed them to rely on it more in the past year, but a GPT app like Freecash is a way to earn pocket money, not a stand-in for a paycheck.

How do you earn money on Freecash?

You earn Freecash coins for completing tasks, and 1,000 coins equals $1. Here’s how the main earning methods work, per Freecash’s own site.

  • Play games. Gaming companies pay Freecash to get you playing their apps, so you earn rewards for hitting levels or milestones in games available on the offer wall.
  • Complete surveys. Market research companies pay for your feedback. Freecash tells you the expected time and reward before you start a survey.
  • Test apps and sign up for products. You get paid to download partner apps or sign up for services and complete simple in-app actions. Some of these ask for a card number or a minimum deposit, so check the requirements first.
  • Climb the leaderboard. Freecash runs daily and monthly leaderboards that split extra rewards among the most active users.
  • Refer friends. You earn a commission when someone signs up with your referral link or code and starts earning.

Tips to get more out of Freecash

  • Check in daily. New offers and bonus opportunities show up regularly.
  • Pick one or two games and stick with them. Milestone rewards usually grow the longer you play a single game.
  • Watch for promo codes. Freecash posts bonus codes on its social channels from time to time.
  • Withdraw as you go. Given reports that accounts get restricted before large withdrawals, cashing out smaller amounts more often may reduce your risk.
  • Skip offers that need a deposit if you’re not comfortable with the risk. Some product trials and casino offers require you to spend money with no guaranteed return.

What do people on Reddit say?

r/FreeCash is an active community, and its own pinned posts confirm Freecash’s return to the App Store and include a running support megathread for account and cashout issues, dated July 2026.

Sentiment in the community is mixed. Plenty of posts are just people sharing small wins from spinning wheels, offer milestones and games. But one detailed, widely engaged post describes a pattern that echoes what shows up in BBB and app store reviews: a user cashed out more than $200 in their first month, then had a roughly $297 reward clawed back and their account restricted the day after completing two higher-value milestones, while smaller rewards for the same objective stayed credited. They reported only automated responses after a week of follow-up.

One thread also flagged a state-specific wrinkle worth knowing: a user in Maine noted that Stake.us, one of Freecash’s cashout options, is no longer usable there due to state-level restrictions on that platform. If you’re planning to cash out to Stake, it’s worth checking your state’s rules first.

How does Freecash make money?

Freecash runs a performance-based advertising model, according to its own advertiser page. Brands and game studios pay Freecash to reach its user base, and Freecash shares part of that revenue with you as a reward when you complete a game milestone, survey or sign-up.

How does Freecash pay you in the US?

Once you hit the cashout threshold, US users can withdraw through:

  • PayPal
  • Venmo
  • Bank transfer (ACH)
  • Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin)
  • Gift cards, including Amazon, Apple, Google Play, DoorDash, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Spotify
  • Stake (a crypto casino platform)

Your first cash out has a regional minimum, generally between $5 and $20, and you’ll need to verify your identity with a government-issued ID at that point. PayPal, Venmo and bank transfers carry a 5% fee. Bank transfers take 3–5 business days, while PayPal, Venmo, gift cards and crypto are typically much faster. If you plan to cash out to Stake, check your state’s rules first — users have reported that Stake.us isn’t usable in every state, including Maine.
