How to cancel Netflix
A step-by-step guide to canceling your account.
Streaming services don’t always make their cancellation procedures clear. Thankfully, you can cancel your Netflix subscription with little hassle.
Canceling your Netflix account
- Sign in to Netflix.
- Click the down arrow at the top right of the page, next to your profile name.
- Select the Account section.
- Under Membership and billing, click the gray Cancel membership box.
- Click Finish cancellation to confirm you want to cancel.
And there you have it: You’re now unsubscribed from Netflix in less than 5 minutes. You can use your Netflix account until the end of your current billing period.
If you can’t see the option to cancel your membership in the account page, you’re being billed by a third party. If that’s the case, on your Account page you will see either a link to guide you through the cancelation process with your billing company or instructions to contact your billing company to cancel.
Note: After you cancel your account, you can return to Netflix anytime. All you need to do is sign in with your credentials and choose the “Restart Membership” option from your Account page. Your viewing activity, ratings and recommendations will be available for 10 months after your account closes.

Can you have two Netflix accounts?
Hi Patricia,
Thanks for reaching out to Finder.
Yes- you can have two Netflix accounts however, you will need two different email IDs to setup these multiple accounts. You will also have to pay for every account that you have.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Charisse
i want to cancel my Netflix account but forgot my password,I haven’t used it for the past three months but still a debit order goes of my account every month.please what can I do
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
If you’ve forgotten your password, the first thing that you should do is visit Netflix’s password recovery page.
From here you’ll be able to choose the method that you would like to use to reset your password, either through email, text message or by providing your billing information if neither of those is available to you. If you choose to reset your password, please know that you’ll have 24 hours to use the link provided by Netflix through email or 20 minutes to use the link sent through text messaging before they expire and you have to request a new one. If you don’t see an email from them, be sure to check your spam and junk mail folders too.
Once your password is reset, you can use the steps listed in the article above to cancel your account.
All the best,
Brian
I tried to cancel Netflix through the account menu but there is no Cancel membership button. On billing details I can see only 2 old bills from 2018., but I keep regularly getting bills every month. What can I do about it?
Hi Bozana,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
If you are unable to cancel your Netflix account through the account menu, you will have to contact your billing company who can help you take care of the cancellation process manually. There should be a link on your account page that can get you in touch with your billing company, but if that doesn’t appear either then I would recommend getting in contact with Netflix to sort this out.
Hope this helps!
Brian
1. I would like to ask why I was charge for 550 pesos fee in my phone billing plan since i did not sign in to Netflix? I only click the free trial ?
2. how could i unsubscribe? since i did not sign in??? because if you click unsubscribe you will ask me AGAIN to sign in ?
3. I don’t have an account with the Netflix
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE MONEY TO PAY FOR IT!
Hi there,
It’s difficult to say why you would have been charged by Netflix if you didn’t sign up with them, though if you did sign for a free trial then you would have been charged as soon as the trial period ended. If you did not sign up for an account or trial and have received an erroneous charge from Netflix, I would recommend contacting their customer support online or by phone to get more information and see if there’s anything that can be done on their end to help fix this.
Hope this helps,
Brian
I canceled my subscriptionon July21, 2019.
I keep getting emails that i have not made my monthly payments.
Can this be stopped please
thank you.
recieved confirmation from netflix
Hi Joanne,
If you’ve officially canceled your account, then you should not be receiving any payment requests from Netflix. If your payment information has become invalid without canceling the account (such as if a debit card you used to pay for your subscription expired) then you would have received a communication from Netflix telling you about it, and that your account is suspended until your payment info was updated.
However, if you did cancel your subscription and have been getting repeated emails claiming you need to update your payment information, it’s possible that what you’ve received is not from Netflix at all, but actually, a scam email that is trying to get you to put in personal information. Netflix will never send emails asking for any sort of personal information such as payment details or account login information. If you’re not sure if the emails are legit, you can report them to Netflix’s Help Center or forward the message to phishing@netflix.com so they can handle it.
Hope this helps,
Brian
