The biggest difference between the Discover It Cash Back and the Citi Simplicity is the Discover It earns 5% back on rotating categories on up to $1,500 each quarter, and 1% back after that and on everything else. The Citi Simplicity isn’t a rewards card and thus doesn’t earn rewards on purchases.

The Discover It will also match all cash back you earn at the end of your first year as part of its signup bonus. The Citi Simplicity on the other hand boasts a huge 21-month intro APR on balance transfers compared to the Discover It’s 14-month period.
