Events that were reasonably foreseeable — aka “known events”
Claims arising as a result of intoxication or being under the influence of drugs.
Can I add more coverage to my policy?
Depending on your policy, you may be able to upgrade your coverage with these extras:
Cancel for any reason. Makes it easy for you to cancel your trip for all unexpected and unforeseen reasons.
Rental car damage. If your plan doesn’t include rental car damage, include this option if you rent a car while traveling.
Pre-existing condition waiver. Coverage for travelers who have a pre-existing medical condition in a given time frame.
Flight insurance. Adds health and accident coverage and additional protection for your time and baggage.
How do I file a claim with Travelex?
The quickest way to file a claim is online, and you’ll need your policy number, as well as original copies of receipts and bills.
You may need to take these steps, too:
To file a claim for trip cancellation and interruption, you must contact your Travel Supplier and Claims Administrator to report your claim and avoid non-covered expenses for making a late claim.
To file a medical expense claim, ensure you have all receipts stating the amount you paid with specific listings of your diagnosis and treatment.
To file a claim for lost, stolen or damaged baggage, be sure to notify the local authorities, hotel management, or tour guide representative to receive a written statement that must be submitted when you file your claim.
Bottom line
Travelex has a full roster of travel insurance policies, from basic and flight-only coverage to comprehensive coverage with all the bells and whistles. But to make sure you’re getting the best coverage for the lowest price, compare travel insurance companies.
