Explanation of coverage

  • Trip cancellation. If something happens like a death of a relative or illness forces you to cancel your trip before you leave home, you’re covered for any non-refundable deposits or cancellation fees.
  • Trip interruption. If you fall ill or are injured while overseas, InsureandGo provides coverage for your ambulance, hospital, medical and surgical expenses as well as repatriation to the United States.
  • Travel delay. You’re covered for additional accommodation and food when your trip is delayed due to circumstances beyond your control.
  • Baggage and personal effects. If your luggage or personal belongings are lost, stolen or damaged, you’re covered for replacing or repairing them.
  • Delayed baggage. If your baggage is delayed, you’ll be given a certain amount of money to buy things like clothing and toiletries.
  • Emergency medical or dental expenses. You’re covered for emergency medical and dental costs if you fall ill or are injured while traveling.
  • Emergency medical transportation and repatriation. InsureandGo offers up to $500,000 coverage when you need to be transported in a medical emergency or repatriated to your home.
  • Air flight accident. This pays a lump sum benefit in the event of an air flight accident.
  • Travel accident. If you’re involved in a travel accident, some InsureandGo policies pay a lump sum benefit.

Does InsureandGo cover pre-existing medical conditions?

InsureandGo’s doesn’t cover pre-existing condition if in the 60 days prior to coverage starting:

  • First manifested itself or resulted in symptoms.
  • Required you to take drugs or prescribed medicine.
  • Required medical treatment or if treatment was recommended by a physician.

However, this exclusion on pre-existing conditions can be waived if you enroll in an InsureandGo plan at the time you pay the deposit required for the covered trip (or within 14 days of the initial deposit) and you buy coverage under the policy for the full cost of the covered trip.

How do I make a claim with InsureandGo?

If you want to make a claim on your InsureandGo policy, you’ll need to register your claim with your insurer no later than 30 days after completing your travel. You’ll need to submit a signed and completed claim form to InsureandGo along with any other information having to do with your claim including invoices and receipts, proof of ownership, police reports and medical reports.
