Prime Day shopping statistics 2021
An estimated 418 million Indian adults plan to shop the Amazon Prime Day sales.
44% of Indian adults, an estimated 418 million people, plan to shop Amazon Prime Day 2021 according to “Finder’s Amazon Prime Day shopping report”. We polled a convenience sample of 2,508 Indian adults to find out what they plan to buy.
About half of those planning to shop during Prime Day 2021 will buy an Amazon product or service
19% of Indians say they plan to buy an Amazon product, like a Kindle or Echo, or an Amazon service like Amazon Prime. 5% of people plan to buy both a product and service, with 18% of Indian adults saying they will buy a tech product and 11% a service.
Elsewhere, 24% are planning to purchase outside of Amazon, with 8% saying they will buy a tech product, 8% saying they plan on spending money on clothing accessories and makeup, and 8% saying they plan on spending money on products for the home.
More men plan to shop Amazon Prime Day
45% of men plan to shop Amazon Prime Day, compared to 40% of women. Men are more likely to buy products across all categories, with the exception of clothing, accessories or makeup. The biggest gender gap in product categories is among Amazon tech products, with men outbuying women by 5.91%.
25-34 and 35-44-year-olds plan to shop Amazon tech
Those aged 35-44 are the most likely to shop during Prime Day (48%), followed closely by 18-24-year-olds (44%) and 25-34-year-olds (41%). Younger Indians are also more likely to purchase Amazon tech products, with 20% of 25-34 and 35-44-year-olds saying they intend to make an Amazon tech purchase.
