You can redeem your Cash Rewards or points for benefits including:

How can you redeem rewards?

To redeem rewards, log in to your credit card account on the HSBC website. You can check your rewards balance and redeem cash back or points.

How much are rewards worth?

HSBC points are worth the industry-standard of one cent apiece. They may be worth more if you redeem them through HSBC Rewards. For example, with the HSBC Premier World Elite Mastercard® credit card, your 50,000-point signup bonus is worth $750 when you use it to book airfare through HSBC Rewards. That means it’s worth 50% more than it normally would be.

Typical card features and benefits of a HSBC card

  • No annual fee or first-year fee waived. HSBC’s cards are mostly split between no-annual-fee products and cards that waive your first year’s annual fee. For the latter, you’ll pay an annual fee starting the second year if you don’t have a qualifying US HSBC Premier checking account.
  • Rewards. All HSBC cards have rewards except for the HSBC Gold Mastercard® credit card.
  • No foreign transaction fees. All HSBC’s cards come with no foreign transaction fees.
  • Signup bonus. Every HSBC card has a signup bonus except the HSBC Gold Mastercard® credit card.
  • Penalty APR. For most of its cards, HSBC may apply a penalty APR to all balances if you make a late payment.

How does HSBC keep my credit card information secure?

HSBC guarantees you’ll never be liable for unauthorized transactions. If you report fraudulent activity on your account, HSBC may start blocking certain transactions more aggressively. It may also temporarily suspend or close your account. If HSBC closes your account, it will give you a new account number.

When you log in to your HSBC account, the bank will encrypt the data you transmit. With encryption software, your information is scrambled so third parties can’t read it.

HSBC uses network firewalls to prevent unauthorized users from accessing its private network. Additionally, it uses digital certificates so you can confirm you’re accessing the legitimate HSBC website.

Bottom line

HSBC offers strong low intro APR, cashback and travel cards. Most cards also offer rewards, signup bonuses and no foreign transaction fees.
