As of August 2021, Western Union only accepts cash transfers at agent locations in the Philippines. Here’s a breakdown of Western Union’s fees for sending ₱10,000 and ₱20,000 from the Philippines for cash pickup abroad, as of August 15, 2021.

How about any hidden fees?

On top of any upfront fees, Western Union also adds a margin on top of the mid-market exchange rate. The size of this margin varies depending on the currency you want to transfer.

For example, if you want to send money to Australia from the Philippines, Western Union adds a margin of 6.5%:

  • Mid-market rate: 1 PHP = 0.024 AUD
  • Western Union rate: 1 PHP = 0.026 AUD

While to send money to India, Western Union adds a margin of 1.3%:

  • Mid-market rate: 1 PHP = 1.47 INR
  • Western Union rate: 1 GBP = 1.49 INR
