Like most money market accounts, the Nationwide Money Market Plus account offers free ATM and check-writing privileges. But other than its competitive 0.5%, there’s no overdraft protection and you’ll need to keep a daily balance of at least $1,000 to avoid the $8 monthly fee.
If you don’t need to write checks, Nationwide’s Regular Savings account comes with the same APY, and a much lower maintenance fee and minimum balance requirement to avoid it.
