04 June 2018– Price comparison site has released its monthly Cryptocurrency Predictions Survey, on how the top 13 cryptocurrencies by market cap and three trending coins will perform in 2018.

Bitcoin (BTC) is predicted to hit US$14,638 (£10,997) by the end of the year – less than half of its predicted value in January at US$33,000 (£24,791), due to stagnant pricing and failure to recover from its fall at the start of the year. This is according to price comparison site’s monthly Cryptocurrency Predictions Survey, released today.

Out of the 13 coins, the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap and three trending coins,’s 10 panellists predict that EOS (EOS) will experience the greatest percentage growth by 1 July at 44 percent. EOS was sitting at US$12.49 (£9.38) per unit on 30 May 2018, and is forecast to reach US$18.00 (£13.52) by 1 July. It’s also expected to see the greatest price increase by end of year, of 206 percent to US$38.25 (£28.73).

TRON (TRX) is expected to have the second-greatest positive price growth by 31 December 2018, at 146 percent, followed by Cardano (ADA) at 145 percent.

None of the coins are expected to decrease in value by the end of the year, however, two are forecast to drop by 1 July 2018. IOTA (MIOTA) is estimated to fall eight percent in price, followed by Monero (XMR) at a seven percent loss.

Comparing the forecast market capitalisations* for bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Ethereum (ETH) – the only three of the 13 coins with reported number of coins available – bitcoin (BTC) is predicted to see the highest growth by the end of the year (95 percent). Jon Ostler, UK CEO at says, “Our June report shows that bitcoin is not set to recover this year. In fact, our panellists were much more optimistic in January, where they were expecting it to hit of £24,791 by year’s end. Now, our panel is forecasting less than half of this, at £10,995 by December 31, likely because bitcoin hasn’t risen above £10,000 since it fell in January this year.

“Interestingly, this month our panellists predict EOS, TRON, Cardano and VeChain will see the greatest price percentage increases by the end of 2018, with increases well above 100 percent. Meanwhile, bitcoin is forecast to experience the fifth-largest price growth at 95 percent.

“For those looking to enter the market for the first time, it’s always important to do your own research or seek help from a professional advisor. While it can be tempting to invest in a newer coin that has a much lower price, make sure to check factors such as how long it has existed and how it’s fared so far. It’s important to be aware of and understand the risks associated with such a high volatile currency before purchasing.”
