Winners of Finder’s 2024 Kids Banking Innovation Awards announced!

April, 22, 2024, NEW YORK –

The winner and highly commended companies in Finder’s Kids Banking Innovation Awards have been announced today.

Finder.com, a personal finance comparison site, assessed innovations across kids banking.

The awards recognize financial providers that are innovating in their sector, by launching impactful features and delivering unique benefits to their customers. The awards were decided by a panel of expert judges:

  • Alexa Serrano Cruz, senior banking editor at Finder
  • Laura Adams, money expert and spokesperson at Finder
  • Tony Steuer, internationally recognized financial wellness advocate, award-winning author, top-ranked podcaster and speaker
  • True Tamplin, best-selling author, public speaker, CEO of UpDigital, and founder of Finance Strategists

And the winners are…

The winner of the Kids Banking Innovation category is Step. And the highly commended accolade goes to BusyKid.

Commenting on the awards, Alexa Serrano Cruz, senior editor at finder.com, said:

“The popularity of kids’ banking products shows a growing need for better financial education. Parents are recognizing the importance of teaching kids about money and are looking for the tools to help them do it. Years ago, we saw fintechs enter the space with banking apps that included chores and allowance features. But that has now evolved into a market that’s continuously pushing boundaries with more offerings and features like savings, credit-building tools and rewards. It’s exciting to see how this space has evolved and is empowering the next generation of savers!”

Methodology:
The shortlist of finalists in each category was selected by Finder’s subject-matter experts, who identified the providers they felt were displaying key innovations in their field.

This shortlist was then passed to an expert judging panel, who decided the winning and highly commended companies by assessing the finalists across three different criteria: uniqueness of innovation, impact in the market and value to customers.
