Crypto.com offers convenient ways to buy, sell and earn digital assets in Canada.
Crypto.com is a good choice for both beginners and experienced cryptocurrency investors.

The platform's easy interface and many learning resources are great for newbies. On the other hand, you'll pay higher fees if you don't hold CRO, and some users report problems with customer service.

Launched in 2016, Crypto.com has become one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, with over 100 million users globally.
Starting as a crypto-only exchange, Crypto.com has evolved into a more feature-rich platform, offering crypto payments, borrowing and lending services, a non-custodial wallet, the Crypto.org blockchain with native CRO and an NFT marketplace (however, features vary by country).
To be at the forefront of mainstream adoption, the platform has invested millions in marketing, including negotiating deals with globally recognised sporting organisations and celebrities.
The exchange is headquartered in Singapore but is accessible around the world.

How to sign up on Crypto.com exchange
Before you can even get started trading on Crypto.com, you have to go through the rigorous verification process (which usually involves providing proof of identification). This can take time. The reason for this is Crypto.com's commitment to certifications and compliance with regulations and insurers.
- Get started
After selecting the Get Started button, fill in the create account form. - Set up payment
Before you can start trading, you have to add your bank account to your Crypto.com account. There are several options to choose from, so choose the option most compatible. - Provide identification
Before you can make withdrawals and increase your transaction limits, you must submit proof of address and some additional identification. Use either a passport or a driver's license for this. - Start trading
After all that is processed, you're ready to trade on Crypto.com.
Using the Crypto.com app
The Crypto.com app offers all the features you need to start trading cryptocurrency. Buy crypto directly using debit/credit, or pay with funds from your in-app fiat wallet, which can be loaded via bank transfer, debit or credit. Make purchases and (depending on your tier) earn CRO rewards with a prepaid Crypto.com Visa Card, conveniently manageable within the app. E-transfer deposits are free as are transfers to and from your Crypto.com Visa Card.
Is Crypto.com safe?
We give Crypto.com a high trust rating based on multiple factors. Especially notable are the company’s zero-hack history and its requirement that users use secondary authentication when logging in.
There have been multiple security audits performed by both internal and external audit teams. Crypto.com offers a large insurance fund to cover any potential losses due to security breaches, and its US bank is FDIC insured.
Past hacks. In 2022, Crypto.com reported that over 400 accounts had experienced unauthorised withdrawals. All withdrawals were either prevented or reimbursed.
Security audits. Crypto.com holds digital assets in cold storage and uses features like two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect users' accounts. It runs a bug bounty program through HackerOne, which rewards those who spot gaps in the app's security.
Auditing firms are employed to stress test and audit the platform's core Blockchain systems. Furthermore, Crypto.com has a SOC 2 Type II compliance rating as well as the highest NIST Cybersecurity and Privacy Frameworks rating (Tier 4).
Insurance. Crypto.com has a $120 million insurance fund through the Crypto.com Custody Trust Company. This includes a $100 million insurance policy for cold storage assets and a $20 million policy covering crime or third-party theft.
For US residents, all USD deposits held on Crypto.com are deposited into Metropolitan Commercial Bank, which is a member of the FDIC. All deposits made by US residents are therefore insured up to a value of $250,000.
Keeping your crypto secure
All centralised exchanges, including Crypto.com, are vulnerable to counterparty risks like hacking, theft and insolvency. Using a self-custodial or hardware wallet is widely accepted as the best way to improve the security of your funds. We've shared some of our top picks below.

Crypto.com customer support
Crypto.com offers several methods for customer support. These include a 24/7 live web chat, an email ticketing system, customer service numbers for specific services, a detailed help center and social media platforms.
Although several methods are available, there are a number of negative reviews regarding these services. Poor reviews state that it's hard to get fast customer support and that answers are unhelpful.
