You can then redeem your PC Optimum points at the Loblaw-owned Shoppers Drug Mart locations across the nation. You can apply for a PC Financial credit card online. You’ll need to make sure you meet the eligibility requirements and have all the relevant information on hand.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for a PC Financial credit card, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

  • You’ll need to be the age of majority in your province or territory.
  • Be a Canadian resident.

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you’ll need to enter the following information:

  • Personal information. You’ll need to provide personal details including your full name, email address, phone number and residential address. While it’s not required, inputting your SIN number will speed up the process.
  • Valid form of ID. You’ll need to supply a piece of government-issued ID such as your driver’s licence or a copy of your passport.
  • Financial and employment information. You may be asked to provide pay stubs or further financial details to show that you’re in a decent financial standing and can make repayments on time.
  • Credit score. You could be required to submit to a credit check as a condition of getting approved for an American Express credit card.

Bottom line

PC Financial offers two different credit cards that allow you to earn unlimited PC Optimum points with no expiry dates. While the PC Financial Insiders World Elite Mastercard charges an annual fee of $120, it offers a generous welcome bonus and the ability to earn Optimum Points at a much higher rate. The PC Financial Mastercard is a no annual fee card, so if you don’t frequent Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart and other associated businesses as much, then it may make sense to select the no annual fee card.
