Cashlift.ca: Is It Legit?
Our verdict
Cashlift.ca says it offers a 24/7 payday-loan-matching service, but we're not signing off on its legitimacy.
Cashlift claims to be a loan-matching platform that connects borrowers with payday lenders. You can apply online in minutes, get an instant decision, and get funded via e-Transfer the same day. You can also apply if you have bad or limited credit.
But the Cashlift website doesn't list an office address and features conflicting information about loan APRs, terms and amounts. There are also no details about which lenders feature in Cashlift's panel of partners, so we recommend looking elsewhere if you're searching for a short-term loan.
Is Cashlift.ca legitimate?
We’re not prepared to sign off on the legitimacy of Cashlift.ca. Our research into this provider raised the following concerns:
- No address. There is no physical office address listed on the Cashlift website, though an address is listed on its Trustpilot profile.
- No phone number. Cashlift does not list any phone contact details on its website, though a phone number is listed on its Truspilot profile.
- Unclear loan APRs. Cashlift lists loan APRs ranging from 23.99% to 59.96%, but it also says it specializes in payday loans, which commonly have APRs much higher than the range quoted.
- Unclear loan amounts. Payday loans in Canada, which Cashlift claims to specialize in, offer maximum loan amounts of $1,500. But the Cashlift.ca homepage also mentions loans of up to $5,000, while the loan application form lets you request to borrow up to $3,000.
- Unclear loan terms. Cashlift lists loan terms of 4 to 12 months or longer, but payday lending regulations in Canada limit loan terms to a maximum of 62 days.
- No lending panel details. While the Cashlift.ca homepage features the logos of legit providers like Loans Canada, Spring Financial, Mogo and iCash, there are no details about which payday lenders the platform is partnered with.
- Incorrect review information. The Responsible Lending page of the Cashlift website shows a graphic with a 5-star Trustpilot rating from 645 reviews. But when we checked Trustpilot, we couldn’t find any reviews for Cashlift.

What to watch out for
- We’re not sure if it’s legit. Due to unclear loan information and lending panel details, we’re not sure if Cashlift is a legit loan search platform.
- High cost of payday loans. Payday loans in Canada cost $14 for every $100 borrowed, so they’re an extremely expensive loan option.
- Short repayment terms. Payday loans are usually designed to be paid back on your next payday, so it can be very difficult to afford to repay what you borrow.
- Not a direct lender. Cashlift is not a lender, so if you apply through the platform, you will end up dealing with one or more third-party lenders.

What is the Cashlift.ca application process like?
Cashlift offers a similar application process to other online loan search platforms, i.e. it requires personal information. You’ll need to start by entering the amount you want to borrow, then provide personal details such as your credit score, employment status and whether you receive your income by direct deposit.
Next, you’ll need to provide your contact details, date of birth and address, plus details of whether you rent or own. Finally, provide details of your income and employment before submitting your application.
Bottom line
Cashlift provides confusing and conflicting information about the types of loans you can access through its platform. And with no office address, lending panel details or customer reviews available, we’re not sure if it’s legit. That’s why we recommend looking elsewhere if you need a payday loan.
