Is Ez Cash Now legitimate?

We have significant concerns about the legitimacy of EzCashNow. EzCashNow is not a licensed payday lender. It shares an address and phone number with other online lending companies we have concerns about and it has an underdeveloped website.

Specifically, our research into EzCashNow raised the following issues:

• Not a licensed lender. In its website FAQ, EzCashNow says it offers loans to residents throughout Canada except for Alberta and Quebec. However, we couldn’t find EzCashNow listed in the business licence databases of provinces such as Ontario, British Columbia and Nova Scotia.
• Conflicting information. On its homepage, EzCashNow says it only offers loans in Nova Scotia – despite its FAQ stating that it offers loans everywhere except Alberta and Quebec.
• Not registered. We couldn’t find EzCashNow listed in Canada’s business registries.
• Shares contact details with other lending companies. The phone number and mailing address EzCashNow lists on its website are shared by Planet Loan Inc., Apple Cash Loans and Faxless Payday Loan, three other lenders of questionable legitimacy.
• F rating from BBB. Planet Loan Inc., which shares contact details with EzCashNow, has an F rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and is not BBB-accredited. The bureau had also closed 51 complaints against Planet Loan Inc. in the three years prior to writing.

We couldn’t find any independent online reviews for EzCashNow. However, Planet Loan Inc., the company with which EzCashNow shares an address and phone number, has an average rating of 1 out of 5 from six reviews on the Better Business Bureau website. The BBB had also closed over 50 complaints against Planet Loan Inc. in the previous three years.

Issues commonly reported included providing sensitive personal information and then getting rejected for a loan, poor customer service and loan payments being deducted early.

What is the Ez Cash Now application process like?

EzCashNow will ask you to provide the following information when you apply:

• Your name
• Your email address and phone number
• Your residential address

EzCashNow may ask for more details such as your bank account information as you continue through the application process.
