Our verdict
Freecash offers a simple and legit way to make money online, but is it worth the effort? I put it to the test to find out.
Freecash is a popular "get-paid-to" (GPT) website and app that lets you earn rewards by playing games, filling out surveys and signing up for different products. When you're ready to cash out your earnings, you can withdraw cash to PayPal, withdraw crypto or convert your rewards into a wide range of gift cards.
But is Freecash legit? Is it worth it? Can you really make money just by playing games? I signed up for an account to find out.

Is Freecash legit?
Let’s answer the most important question straight away: Yes, Freecash is legit.
Freecash is available globally and has millions of users around the world. It has received more than 263,000 user reviews on Trustpilot, 86% of which are 5-star reviews. The Freecash app has also amassed over 300,000 reviews on Google Play, and its website includes important legal documents such as terms of service and a privacy policy.
Freecash sign-up process
You can create a Freecash account on the website or by downloading the app. Freecash previously only had an Android app, but it now also offers an iOS app for Apple users.
I’ve got an Android phone, so I downloaded the app from Google Play. The sign-up process is simple and straightforward. You have the option to sign up with your Google, Facebook or Apple account, but I just used my email address and created a password. At a later date, when you want to cash out your rewards, you’ll need to verify your identity by uploading a selfie and a photo of your government-issued ID.
Once you’re logged in, either in the app or online, the Freecash user interface is easy to navigate. My dashboard told me there were 20 offers available, with rewards ranging from $82 to $2,051 per offer, and with a total of $12,154.78 to earn.
So far, so good. I was ready to begin my first offer and start earning cash. But before we get to that, let’s take a look at the different ways you can make money with Freecash.

How to earn money on Freecash
When you complete tasks and offers on Freecash, you’re rewarded with Freecash coins. If you earn 1,000 coins, that’ll equal $1. Here’s a guide to the different ways you can earn money on Freecash.
Sign up for an account
- How it works: You get a sign-up bonus when you create a Freecash account.
- Time and effort involved: It only takes a couple of minutes to sign up.
- Earning potential: If your account is put in Lite Mode, like mine was, you get a $5 CAD bonus . Other users get to “open” a sign-up case and win a prize ranging from $0.05 to $250.
Play games
- How it works: Gaming companies that partner with Freecash pay you to play their games in order to attract more customers. Games range from old favourites like bingo to town-building and shooter games.
- Time and effort involved: Varies depending on the game and offer.
- Earning potential: You can earn anywhere from $50 to $2,000 per game.
What are the best games on Freecash?
Reddit users mention games such as Bingo Blitz, Merge Dragons, Monopoly Go, Dice Dreams and Domino Dreams as being among the best Freecash games. However, it’s worth logging in to your own account and checking the latest offers to find out which games offer the highest earning potential.
For me, that was Rise of Kingdoms, which offered a total reward of over $2,050.
Complete surveys
- How it works: Companies conducting market research pay Freecash users for their feedback to help them improve their products and services.
- Time and effort involved: 5-10 minutes per survey, moderate effort required.
- Earning potential: $1 for every 5-10 minute survey.
Complete app tasks
- How it works: You get paid to download the apps of partner companies and perform in-app tasks.
- Time and effort involved: Varies depending on the app and offer.
- Earning potential: $1-$75 per app.
Sign up for products
- How it works: Get rewarded when you sign up for products or complete free trial offers from advertising partners.
- Time and effort involved: Varies. Keep in mind that you may have to provide your credit card details, and you may also need to remember to cancel your subscription once the trial period ends.
- Earning potential: Varies.
Top the leaderboard
- How it works: The Freecash leaderboard pays extra rewards to the most active Freecash users each day and each month.
- Time and effort involved: It’ll take a lot of time and effort to be among the platform’s most active users.
- Earning potential: $500 per day is split between the 1,000 most active users each day, and $5,000 per month is split between the 1,000 most active users for the month.
Refer friends
- How it works: Freecash’s affiliate program allows you to get rewarded when you share your referral link or code. If they sign up, you’ll earn a commission on your friend’s earnings when they complete surveys and offers.
- Time and effort involved: Minimal.
- Earning potential: Payout amounts vary depending on how many people you refer to Freecash sign up, install a game and earn enough money to make a withdrawal. I was quoted a maximum of $12.73 per person I invited.
Note: Freecash also has casino offers. However, gambling involves significant financial risk. Most offers require you to deposit and wager your own money to participate. There is no guarantee of a return, and you should only play with money you can afford to lose.
My experience with Freecash
When I started browsing the offers on my dashboard, it quickly became apparent that my account was in Lite Mode. That meant I could only access a limited number of offers, most of them games, and there were no surveys available to me. To get out of Lite Mode and access a full range of offers with Freecash Advanced, I’d need to earn $20 on the platform.
Games
The first game offer in my feed was Monopoly Go. A quick look at the offer details showed me that I could earn small rewards for playing multiple days in a row, and larger rewards for reaching in-game milestones.
It was a similar story for the next game, Disney Solitaire. “Play and earn $727.36” was the advertised offer, which on closer inspection, was split up into two different types of rewards: Limited Rewards and Main Rewards.
Limited Rewards are lucrative offers that need to be completed in a short time period:
- Earn $54.48 by completing Scene 10 Lilo & Stitch within 14 days.
- Earn $109.70 by completing Scene 20 Coco within 28 days.
Main Rewards start out small:
- $0.05: Complete Scene 1 Beauty and the Beast within 30 days.
- $0.07: Complete Scene 2 The Little Mermaid within 30 days.
- $0.10: Complete Scene 3 The Lion King within 30 days.
- $0.16: Complete Scene 4 Frozen within 30 days.
- $0.25: Complete Scene 5 Moana within 30 days.
Eventually, the payouts start getting bigger and the time limits longer:
- $49.25: Complete Scene 15 Encanto within 45 days.
- $65.67: Complete Scene 18 Tangled within 45 days.
- $82.09: Complete Scene 22 Finding Nemo within 60 days.
- $98.51: Complete Scene 25 Robin Hood within 60 days.
- $111.94: Complete Scene 30 Beauty and the Beast within 90 days.
- $98.54: Complete Scene 35 The Little Mermaid within 90 days.
It took me about 10 minutes to finish Scene 1, and the grand total of 5 cents was credited to my account straight away. This told me that I’d need to invest a good chunk of time playing games to earn any decent money.
Freecash encouraged me to make in-app purchases in order to reach these milestones faster. Its Rewards Multiplier feature speeds up the earning process, but the size of your multiplier depends on how much time you spend playing the game and how many in-app purchases you make.
It was the same on Monopoly Go, where I was told I could double my rewards by making an in-game purchase. But I was looking to make money rather than spend it, so I decided not to make a purchase.
The third game I checked out was Bingo Blitz, where I could earn 10 cents if I played at least 60 minutes a day. But if I played at least 60 minutes for 5 days in a row, I could earn a Limited Reward of $10.45. I could also earn $3.50 by inviting 3 friends to the game.
Other offers
Of the couple of offers that weren’t games, one encouraged me to download and install the Kraken crypto exchange app. If I then made a single investment of at least $200 within the first 30 days, I could earn a reward of $179.10.
Another offer invited me to sign up for the Chime mobile banking app. If I made a direct deposit of $200 or more, I’d get a $350 reward. Unfortunately, a little research told me I’d need to be a US citizen or resident with a Social Security Number to create a Chime account—so no juicy reward for me.
What I like about Freecash
- Quick and easy sign-up. It’s easy to create a Freecash account online and start earning in a matter of minutes. There’s no fee to sign up either.
- User-friendly platform. No matter whether you access Freecash through a web browser or the app, the user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate.
- Multiple ways to earn. Unlike some platforms that are limited to a single method of earning money, such as completing surveys, Freecash offers multiple ways to earn rewards.
- Make money in your spare time. If you’re like me and you regularly find yourself in situations with a phone in your hand and time to kill—like when you’re taking the bus to school/work or waiting to pick kids up from school—Freecash offers a legit way to earn some extra pocket money.
- Multiple cash-out methods. You can redeem your rewards for a selection of gift cards, cryptocurrency, or cash out your rewards to your PayPal account.
- Fast cashout. Freecash says most withdrawal requests are approved within two minutes.
What to watch out for
- Lite Mode. Starting on Lite Mode meant I could only access a limited number of offers. I also couldn’t access other money-making opportunities, like surveys, until I built up a balance of $20.
- Time commitment. My experience with Freecash games showed me that you’ll need to be willing to grind in order to make money. The rewards are real, but you’ll need to put in plenty of time to see a decent payout.
- In-app purchases. Games regularly encourage you to make in-app purchases in order to speed up your reward-earning power. Be careful not to pay for anything you don’t want or need.
- Some offers require you to spend money. Some offers, such as the one I got for the Kraken crypto exchange app, require you to spend money to qualify for a reward.
- 5% fee for PayPal withdrawals. You’ll need to pay a hefty 5% fee when you withdraw cash to your PayPal account.
- Other sites may offer more surveys. If you’d prefer to make money by completing surveys rather than playing games, you might find more survey opportunities on other platforms.
- Inactive account. If you don’t log in to your account for over a year, it will be deemed inactive and may be closed.
- Not an income replacement. You won’t earn enough from Freecash to replace a regular income, so don’t quit your day job.
Tips to maximize success on Freecash
My experience with Freecash revealed a few simple steps you can take to help maximize your earning potential:
- Log in regularly. Sign in to your Freecash account daily to check out the latest offers and take advantage of any reward-earning opportunities.
- Play games. Many Freecash users mention that games are the easiest way to make money on the platform. You typically earn rewards by accessing higher levels in each game, so it’s often worth devoting more of your time to a single game you enjoy rather than spreading your playing time across multiple games. Look for games with multiple milestones to help boost your earnings.
- Check social media. Freecash frequently posts bonus codes on Facebook, X and Instagram. Keep an eye out for these codes, and paste them in the bonus code field of your account’s rewards section to earn free money.
- Check Reddit. Browse Reddit for tips from other Freecash users about the most lucrative games and offers.
- Refer friends. You’ll be rewarded if you invite friends to sign up, earn coins and cash out, so refer as many people as possible to potentially generate some passive income.

What does Reddit say about Freecash?
Reddit users generally have positive things to say about Freecash. There are plenty of posters who reassure other users that Freecash is legit, easy to use and offers fast payouts. However, there are some users who claim Freecash is a scam because it fails to credit their account with cash they’ve rightfully earned on the platform, while others complain about the slow rate of earning.
Is Freecash safe?
Yes, I found Freecash to be completely safe to use. Freecash uses SSL encryption to help ensure the safety of your personal and financial information. Identity verification on the platform is handled by Veriff, a global ID verification service founded in 2015 and based in Estonia.
Freecash’s parent company, Almedia Online LLC, is registered in Germany. As already mentioned, there are also more than 200,000 positive reviews for Freecash on the independent review site Trustpilot.
How does Freecash make money?
Freecash earns commissions from brands that advertise on the platform. These advertisers list tasks for Freecash users to perform, including downloading apps, playing games, watching videos and a range of other tasks.
Whenever you complete a task, the advertiser pays a commission to Freecash. Freecash then sends you a reward.
How does Freecash track progress?
Offers that you access through the Freecash app or website are provided by third-party companies.
Once you complete a particular objective as part of an offer, your device sends data to the app or game indicating that you have completed the offer. This data is then sent to the third-party company, which subsequently sends it to Freecash.
Freecash will then credit the rewards to your account. But the frequency with which companies send completion data to Freecash varies—for example, they may send it once a day or multiple times throughout the day. The speed with which rewards are credited to your account can vary as well.
How does Freecash pay you?
Once I reached my cashout threshold, I could request a withdrawal from the Cashout tab of my account. In Canada, the available options are:
- PayPal
- Cryptocurrency withdrawal to a wallet (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Solana)
- Cryptocurrency withdrawal to Stake.com
- Gift cards
Bottom line
Freecash won’t make you a millionaire, but it does offer an easy and legit way to earn some extra income on the side—provided you’re willing to put in the time and effort required. Compare Freecash with other online survey and money-making apps before deciding whether it’s worth it.
