Zenhaven can be a solid option if you’re looking for a natural latex mattress from a trusted, reputable brand. This mattress could also be a good pick if you’re unsure about your precise preferences, given that it combines two firmness levels in one mattress. This mattress is on the heavy side, though, so moving and flipping it can be a bit of a challenge.

I received this mattress for free to try. Regardless, it does not change my opinion about this mattress.
Before my Zenhaven mattress arrived, I received a series of text updates on the progress of my order. Once the mattress was packaged and shipped, I received updates along the journey until it made it to my house. It took about two weeks from placing the order to arrive.
The shippers brought it upstairs for me, which was awesome. Not so awesome? I didn’t have my bed frame yet. I told the shippers to lean the mattress against the wall. But because it’s a latex mattress with no internal springs, there’s not a lot of structure to it, and it won’t lean up against something without slumping over. I have four pets, so between the slumping over and the cat hair, I highly recommend having your bed and bedding ready to go when it arrives — or at least have a place to leave it in the bag, if you need to wait.
Once the bed arrived, it was time to place the mattress. Another issue: This thing is heavy AF. The Cal King size is 165lbs and 72 inches wide, which made it difficult to finagle the mattress onto the frame — and I’m no weakling.
I upgraded from a queen-size Stearns & Foster, which I bought for roughly $1,800 in 2012. The Zenhaven starts around $2,499 for Cal king, so it’s almost comparable in price and quality.
As for comfort? It’s much softer than my previous bed. And it surprised me that I prefer a firmer bed than a softer one. Thankfully, the Zenhaven has two firmness levels, which you change by flipping over the mattress. Considering our effort to get the mattress on the bed in the first place, flipping is another adventure altogether.
So far, so good. I’m getting a good night’s sleep, and the extra legroom sleeping next to my 6-foot-2 husband is priceless.

Zenhaven and Avocado both offer natural latex mattresses with organic cotton covers. A big differences between the two mattresses is that Avocado is built with support coils, while Zenhaven is not.
Avocado is also slightly less expensive than Zenhaven and offers a vegan option without wool. On the other hand, Zenhaven offers free in-home delivery and mattress removal, whereas Avocado charges $199 for in-home delivery.
