Boxing Day cruise deals

When do the Boxing Day travel deals start?

Midnight on 26 December. That said, we’ve found some brands launch sales a few days in advance, or offer a Christmas Sale. We’ll share any good deal we can find around Boxing Day on this page so you won’t miss out, no matter what day the deals drop.

How long do the Boxing Day travel deals last?

Every company is different, but we find most travel sales tend to last 48-72 hours – but the best dates and prices do sell out quickly.

We note on every offer when the deals end (check the date on the bottom right corner), so you can avoid missing out on a sale by waiting too long.

Which brands offer Boxing Day travel deals?

Over the past few years, we’ve seen bargains drop from some of the biggest names in the biz, including:

  • Hotels: Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com,
  • Flights: AirAsia, Jetstar
  • Holidays and Tours: Intrepid, TourRadar
  • Cruises: P&O, Royal Caribbean

How can I get the best travel deals on Boxing Day?

  • Get in early: Boxing Day technically starts at midnight on 26 December, so if you’re a night owl, stay up late on Christmas Day to get in as early as possible. This may mean you’ll have a wider range of dates to choose from and your preferred deals are less likely to already be sold out.
  • Forget brand loyalty: Unless you’re an avid frequent flyer or points collector, go with the site that offers the best rate rather than the biggest brand name.
Compare hotels and prices using an aggregator: Prices often fluctuate quite a bit between different sites. Our hotel and flight aggregators check dozens of travel websites with just one search to compare prices to make sure you’re getting the best rate.
  • Check for a promo code: Some sites will offer an extra savings with a promo code – which we list here when available, just look for “show code” on any offer to save – to help you save even more off already-discounted rates
  • Be as flexible as possible: Discounted rates are usually available during the off- and shoulder-seasons, and if you’re willing to travel outside of peak season you can save big. It’s also generally cheaper to fly midweek (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), rather than over weekends. Keep this in mind when searching for flight deals.
  • Be open to a new destination: Sales aren’t always predictable, and if you go into Boxing Day with a specific destination in mind, you may be disappointed. Rather, approach the sales knowing you want to go to on a beach vacation or a city break, which leaves the options a bit more open. You never know, you may just find a new favourite place!
