Bitkub Coin is the native cryptocurrency of Bitkub Chain, a blockchain that provides users with a ready-to-use infrastructure for the development of decentralised applications (dapps). The project aims to assist with the mainstream adoption of blockchain technology by improving throughput and reducing transaction fees that plague competitor blockchains. The project was developed by Bitkub Blockchain Technology Co. based in Bangkok, Thailand.
According to the project’s website the blockchain is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine and can therefore support all Ethereum-based smart contracts. Using the platform, developers can create their very own blockchain-based applications at an industrial or enterprise level. With a proof-of-authority consensus mechanism, the Bitkub Chain is capable of validating blocks within mere seconds while offering extremely low transaction fee rates. The Bitkub ecosystem now includes the Bitkub Exchange and the Bitkub NEXT crypto wallet. KUB is the native utility token that secures and incentivises all validators supporting the Bitkub blockchain. A KUB transaction fee is required for all transactions that take place. The KUB coin can also be used when participants wish to vote on new development proposals.
