XCAD is the native cryptocurrency token of the XCAD network, which is a tokenisation platform for YouTubers. XCAD aims to take YouTube and combine it with all of the benefits of decentralized blockchain technology.
The project aims to help creators monetise content, sell unique NFTs and reward viewers. To avoid the high gas fees and congestion associated with Ethereum, the project was developed and launched using the Zilliqa blockchain. The project has so far been supported by a range of high-profile YouTubers including Mr Beast, KSI, W2S and Ali-A.
Every creator on YouTube can create their own community tokens. Creators can only unlock creator tokens when the creator hits certain milestones. In addition to the benefits for creators, viewers can earn creator tokens by watching YouTube content through the XCAD extension. By adding the XCAD web browser extension creator tokens are dropped into a viewer’s wallet after watching content. By holding a set amount of creator tokens viewers may then be entitled to certain benefits as set out by the creator. All creator tokens can be exchanged and sold via the XCAD decentralized exchange (DEX). According to the project’s website, the native XCAD token has been designed for several purposes within the XCAD ecosystem. The token powers the XCAD DEX which can be used by viewers and creators to swap tokens. All fees are paid in XCAD. All liquidity pools within the DEX are also backed by the token and the token can be staked alongside creator tokens for multiplier rewards. With regards to governance, XCAD token holders are able to select which content creators are able to produce creator tokens within the network.
