How do I send money from a WorldRemit location?

WorldRemit doesn’t have any physical locations where you can send money from because it’s purely an online money transfer service.

To transfer money with WorldRemit, head to its website, select your destination country and choose Get Started. In the Select Service dropdown, you can choose from a range of transfer options, such as:

    • Bank deposit
    • Cash pickup
    • Mobile Money Transfer
    • Air Time
    • Door-to-door drop off

You’ll provide more details depending on which service method you choose, such as a routing and account number for bank deposit or a mobile number for Air Time. This is also where you indicate how much money you’re sending.

Log in or create an account if you don’t already have one.

Finally, input your recipient’s contact information and choose your reason for sending. Hit Next, put in your payment details and the online transfer is complete.

    Alternatives to sending cash

The most convenient way to send money is through an electronic bank-to-bank transfer by visiting WorldRemit’s website and choosing the Bank Deposit option. After providing the recipient’s bank account and routing number and some basic personal information, your transfer will be processed and available.

Another option is to send funds via Mobile Money — a transfer app that works with over 260 services around the world. Make sure your recipient has a Mobile Money account.

    Bottom line

WorldRemit partners with over 30,000 trusted network locations to provide cash pick up in over 110 countries — almost instantly. But if you’re sending more than $9,000 USD, or if your destination country doesn’t offer a network partner location, you’ll need to find a different transfer service.
