World First earns the title of Most Convenient in’s Money Transfer Awards 2017. They boast “tailored foreign currency market solutions”, and they delivered. This was a delight as we’re passionate about helping Americans make better financial decisions. That means understanding your pain points when it comes to sending money internationally.

The international money transfer industry is booming, yet the majority of consumers are unhappy with their providers. We launched these awards to understand why, improve transparency and recognize best practices.

We hunted down all of the international money transfer services we could find to bring you the best. We focused on 35 providers to collect 1,575 data points that we then used to narrow our selection to 13 services. We used these 13 finalists to send live transfers to France and Mexico, generated quotes for 2,430 transactions, partnered with to collect another 273 data points from 39 independent participants and tested provider sites to confirm that advertised information was accurate. We also referenced Trustpilot ratings, one of the world’s largest online review communities. Learn more in our methodology.

When sending money internationally, consumers must be certain that their hard-earned money can get from point A to point B. But this can be risky. We invited fraud on our bank accounts and had our funds taken only to be told that our transfers failed in hopes that people could learn from our investigative and comprehensive research.

Winning a Money Transfer Award isn’t easy. See why World First is getting recognized.

If you’re transferring large amounts regularly, no one in the competition has more options than World First.

Most Convenient Award

With the number of decisions you make every day, you don’t have the time to sort through all of the services when you need to send money fast. That’s why we worked to save you time and effort in figuring out who provides the best features based on what you need. We focused on a streamlined process from beginning to end, considering any obstacles that might get in your way.

We measured and rated the features that would provide you with the most access. We considered such important factors as availability in all 50 states, country and territory coverage and transfer minimums and maximums. The success rates of our live transfers strongly informed our ratings in this category. If we had trouble sending money, you probably would too.

We graded providers that offer a variety of options to send and receive money accordingly. The ability to send with a debit or credit card, pick up cash and initiate a transfer without a Social Security number cater to a greater number of customers. If your options are limited or you’re restricted in how you need to send a transfer, you should know.

Sending money to 57 countries, World First offers one of the highest daily maximums in the remittance business. Options that are hard to come by — like rate locks and forward transfers — create ease and maximize choices. Especially for those sending money often, World First is an advantageous option.
