Belgium will look to secure their second World Cup win when they face off with Tunisia this Saturday.

The Red Devils defeated Panama 3-0 in their opening game, despite a somewhat uneventful first half. Belgium dominated, but were unable to score in the opening 45 minutes of their first World Cup match. Things picked up in the second half, when Dries Mertens put Belgium in front with an absolute cracker of a goal in minute 47. Then, Lukaku went on to score two times in under 10 minutes, ensuring a well-deserved victory and three points for Belgium, who are now top of the group.

Meanwhile, Tunisia were defeated 2-1 by England, who earned their first World Cup opening win in 12 years. Harry Kane scored first in the 11th minute, but Ferjani Sassi then converted a penalty with 10 minutes to spare in the first half. The match seemed headed to a draw until Captain Kane came through for the Europeans in stoppage time.

It was a tough break for Tunisia, who felt like they already had a point in the bag. Despite being dominated by the Three Lions, they put up some stout resistance. However, the fact that they’re now taking on Belgium, who pose a serious challenge, adds plenty of pressure to the mix. Moreover, Tunisia’s first-choice goalkeeper Mouez Hassen is out of the World Cup after injuring his shoulder in the opening game against England, after just 16 minutes of action. Farouk Ben Mustapha is set to start in his absence.
Belgium and Tunisia faced off three times in the past. Both nations won one game and shared a draw. Their more recent meeting was for a friendly in 2014, won 1-0 by Belgium thanks to a Dries Mertens goal late in the game. The Group G encounter will take place at Spartak Stadium.
