2019 U.S. Bank Cash+™ Visa Signature® Card cash back calendar

Each quarter choose two 5% categories from the list below. You’ll earn 5% cash back in these two categories on up to $2,000 in combined quarterly purchases and then 1% back.

You can also select between grocery stores or gas stations each quarter to earn 2% cash back.

Yes. Watch for changes 45 days before the activation of the next quarter.

Steps to activate your U.S. Bank cash back

To earn 5% cash back, you must activate two eligible categories each quarter. To earn 2% cash back, you must activate one eligible category each quarter.

  • Activation starts 45 days before the start of each quarter, though you can still activate five days before the end of the quarter.
  • To activate, call the number on the back of your card or log in at usbank.com/cashplus.
  • Each category with accelerated cash back lasts for three months.

What counts as a 5% cashback category purchase?

You’ll earn 5% cash back on everything you buy within your selected categories if you enrolled that quarter. However, you’re limited to $2,000 in combined purchases per quarter. Once you reach the cap, you’ll earn 1% cash back on these categories.

Quarterly cash back for the 2% category is unlimited if you enrolled, while everything else you buy earns 1% back.

Which card is better?

It all comes down to your preference. If you spend more in the categories offered by Chase Freedom Flex℠, then that should be your choice. But if you prefer to choose your categories and to know beforehand what you’ll get high rewards on, the U.S. Bank Cash+™ Visa Signature® Card could be the better choice.
