The number of users has been rising steadily since 2016, when there were just 28.9 million. Finder has reviewed all the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finder.com\/uk\/share-trading\/best-trading-apps\">best trading apps<\/a> in the UK if you want more about each platform.<\/p><h3>Number of users per trading app<\/h3><p>Robinhood is one of the most popular trading apps in the US and is due to launch in the UK in 2024. As of August 2023, Robinhood had 23.2 million registered users and 10.6 million monthly active users.<\/p><p>eToro is another popular trading app. As of 2023, eToro has more than 35 million registered users, but around 2.9 million of these were active in 2022.<\/p><p>Trading 212 is another popular online trading service in the UK and Europe, with 2.5 million user accounts live. Meanwhile, Freetrade has 1.5 million users.<\/p><h3>Stock trading revenue by trading app<\/h3><p>Overall, stock trading apps saw lower revenues in 2022 compared to 2021 after the initial hype and interest in these platforms.<\/p><p>Robinhood generated $1.36 billion (\u00a31.08 billion) in revenue in 2022. In the third quarter of 2023, they made $467 million (\u00a3371 million), which was up from $361 million (\u00a3287 million) in the third quarter of 2022 but down slightly from the $486 million (\u00a3386 million) revenue in the second quarter of 2023.<\/p><p>eToro generated $631 million (\u00a3501 million) in revenue in 2022. eToro UK generated $143.8 million (\u00a3114 million) of revenue, which was down 46% from the revenue generated in 2021.
