It\u2019s estimated that more than two-thirds (68%) of the global population will use digital wallets by 2029 \u2013  an estimated 5.8 billion people. <\/p><h3>How many people use digital wallets in the UK?<\/h3><p>57% of UK adults had a mobile payment service in 2024, up from 42% in 2023. This share of digital wallet online payments is predicted to rise to 3 in 5 (68%) by 2030. <\/p><h3>What is the most popular digital wallet?<\/h3><p>Apple Pay is the most popular digital wallet in the UK, with more than three-fifths of consumers (63%) using it as of December 2024. By 2029, this is expected to grow a further 73%, with the value of transactions on mobile wallets reaching \u00a312.9 trillion ($17 trillion).<\/p><h3>The growth of digital wallets in the UK<\/h3><p>Research by Finder has revealed that 45% of Brits aged 16 and over leave the house with only their phone as a payment method at least some of the time, which is estimated to be around 25 million people. <\/p><p>A quarter of Brits (25%) only leave the house without another way of paying occasionally, such as when they\u2019re popping to the local shop.
