What else does it do differently? It uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finder.com\/uk\/digital-banking\/what-is-open-banking\">open banking<\/a> (read-only visibility of your current account, subject to your giving permission) as well as credit reference agencies when assessing applicants and its accompanying app is a step more ambitious than most too.<\/p><p>Because the Onmo card targets a wider pools of borrowers, the interest rate is higher than the top deals on the card market. But you can set up a direct debit to pay off the balance in full each month to avoid incurring interest at all, while still building your credit.<\/p><p>As with pretty much any credit card, you can spend up to your credit limit. Credit limits are tailored to the indidual (in other words, Onmo looks at your circumstances and credit record, and the safer a bet it thinks you are, the higher the limit it\u2019ll offer). Since launching in 2023, Onmo has reduced the card\u2019s minimum credit limit from \u00a3250 to \u00a3200. That could signify that it\u2019s seeking to reach an even wider pool of customors, or, that it\u2019s reining in its lending.<\/p><p>As the Onmo Credit Card has only recently launched, some information on its features and rates is a bit limited. But then it\u2019s features do seem to be rather\u2026 limited! Onmo has big plans, apparently, but as yet it\u2019s card isn\u2019t exactly turning the world of credit upside down. Its stated aim is to help people make \u201csmarter decisions with money\u201d, designing a card that\u2019s fair and an app that clearly shows the different interests and fees. It aims to do this by having everything you need within a couple of taps on the app. Onmo is serious about diving into the finance industry \u2013 it also offers a debit account, with plans to release a business account in the near future.<\/p><h3>What benefits\/features can you get?<\/h3><p>The Onmo Credit Card comes with a couple of features that set it apart from other credit builders:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Onmo app.<\/strong> Control all aspects of your card, allowing you to put your mind at ease.<\/li><li><strong>Reducing APR (and charges) over time.<\/strong> Onmo may offer you a reduced APR and higher credit limit over time if you manage your card responsibly, helping you improve your credit rating and repay less in interest. BUT, Onmo\u2019s a little hazy on the detail here, and doesn\u2019t appear to make any promises about when or how often it might seek to reduce your rate.
