Launched in 2022, Zixty is an app-based, short-term car insurance provider that prides itself on its eco credentials and offers cover from an hour up to 28 days. It makes a big deal on its website about helping people to reduce their environmental impact. It does this by carbon offsetting up to 100 miles of driving per day when you take out a policy with it, download its app and opt in to its free “Zixty Miles” scheme.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>
The Zixty Miles scheme is aimed squarely at those who care about the environment and want to avoid their driving having more of a negative impact than it needs to. The Zixty Miles part of its app measures your driving distances and behaviour while you have your smartphone with you in the car, in a variant of “black box” car insurance<\/a>.
