What is the Halifax Reward current account?<\/h3>

The Halifax Reward current account is a step up from the standard Halifax current account, but a level below the Halifax Ultimate Reward account which charges a \u00a319 monthly fee.<\/p>

With the Halifax Reward account, you\u2019ll have access to a range of rewards and cashback offers and, providing you pay \u00a31,500 or more into your account each month, you\u2019ll avoid the \u00a33 monthly fee. The account can be opened individually or jointly and comes with a contactless Visa debit card.<\/p>

Note that from 17 June 2025, you\u2019ll no longer be able to add Reward Extras to your account or renew existing ones, as the account is being revamped. We\u2019ll update this guide at a later date to reflect the new changes.<\/strong><\/p>

\n The Halifax brand is disappearing from our high streets, and while it's sad to say goodbye to a bank that has given millions their first mortgage or student account, in reality, the change is not that drastic. \n

\nIf you're a Halifax customer, you'll be contacted in the coming days or weeks and invited to move across to the Lloyds app and online banking. Once there, you'll gain access to Lloyds products for renewals, upgrades or downgrades without having to change sort code or account number. \n

\nIt's really important to note that you won't be asked to move money, transfer funds or share security details by Lloyds. So if you do get a message asking you to do any of those things, it's a scam!\n

\nYour account number, sort code, and FSCS protection will all stay exactly the same. Any money you have in a Halifax account will remain completely separate from your new Lloyds accounts.\n

How does it work?<\/h3>

As well as offering everything you\u2019d expect from a bank account, the Halifax Reward account also includes the following key features:<\/p>

  • Reward Extras.<\/strong> Choose between 3 x digital magazines, 1 x cinema ticket at any UK Vue cinema, or \u00a35 in your account each month.<\/li>
  • Cashback Extras.<\/strong> Earn up to 15% cashback at selected retailers.<\/li>
  • Save the Change.<\/strong> Round up your card payments to the nearest pound to save as you spend.<\/li>
  • 0% overdraft for 6 months.<\/strong> New current account applicants can benefit from an interest-free overdraft for 6 months. After this, you\u2019ll be charged interest. <\/li><\/ul>

    Who is it for?<\/h3>

    To be eligible for the Halifax Reward account, you must be at least 18 years old and a UK resident. You will also need to pay at least \u00a31,500 into your account each month and stay in credit, otherwise you\u2019ll pay a \u00a33 monthly fee.<\/p>

    To qualify for Reward Extras, you must either spend \u00a3500 on your debit card each month, or keep \u00a35,000 or above in your account each day of the month.<\/p>

    What are the benefits?<\/h3>

    The main benefit of the Halifax Reward account is the rewards on offer. You\u2019ll have the option to choose from a lifestyle benefit, such as cinema tickets, or straightforward cash if you prefer. You\u2019ll also be able to earn cashback as you spend in certain retailers.<\/p>

    How to apply<\/h3>

    The quickest and easiest way to apply for the Halifax Reward account is online. You\u2019ll need to fill in an application form and provide details about your income and home address over the past 3 years.<\/p>
