What is Halifax\u2019s student banking offer?<\/h3>

This year, Halifax is offering \u00a3100 in cash when you open an account and pay in at least \u00a3500 by 31 October 2025. You\u2019ll also get a \u00a315 Deliveroo voucher for each month that you make 20 or more qualifying debit transactions between November and April. <\/p>

Eligibility<\/h3>

You\u2019ll be eligible for a Halifax Student Current Account if you\u2019re on a degree course or in equivalent full-time education. You must be aged 18 or over to apply.<\/p>

How to open an account<\/h3>

You can apply online or in a branch. You\u2019ll need the following documents:<\/p>

  • Proof of identity, such as a current passport or photo driving licence (full or provisional);<\/li>
  • Proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement no more than 6 months old;<\/li>
  • Your 4-digit UCAS code confirming your place for your course.<\/li><\/ul>

    The benefits<\/h3>
    • Interest-free overdraft.<\/strong> Your interest-free overdraft will have a maximum limit of \u00a31,500 for the length of your course, up to a maximum of 6 years (this is rising to \u00a32,000 in years 4 to 6 in August 2025).<\/li>
    • Interest on in-credit balances.<\/strong> You\u2019ll earn 0.5% AER on unlimited in-credit balances \u2013 however, this will no longer be the case from 2 June, 2025. <\/li>
    • Earn cashback with Halifax\u2019s retail partners.<\/strong> Simply activate the deal on Halifax\u2019s \u201cCashback Extras\u201d tab within its online banking platform.<\/li><\/ul>
